We're stayin' alive, ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive! Yes, the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark is still alive! While the Geopark's commercial arm has been removed from the companies office last week, the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark Charitable Trust is still active! The removal of the company has no affect on the projects that we are undertaking. Education has always been at the centre of what we do and we are excited about the upcoming School of Rocks on Tour programme and other projects such as the launch of the Discovery Trail and developing interpretative signage across the district.

Some background information on the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark Ltd: The Company was incorporated in February 2019 and was established to isolate commercial risk should the Trust wish to undertake commercial operations of scale or to invest in any other entity. It had been inactive due to Covid-19. The company was wound down in June 2021 as the Trust is unlikely to enter into significant capital investments or trade operations within the next year or two. It was a purely commercial decision to save funds on audit fees. If the situation changes, the company can be reincorporated.
