TAPAS THE CLASS?! The Waitaki Whitestone Geopark is offering one lucky Waitakian the opportunity to participate in the Geopark Online Course offered by the Universidade de Minho in Portugal between 08 June and 12 July 2020. This four-week course provides the conceptual bases on geodiversity, geological heritage, geoconservation and presents initiatives that can be developed by geoparks. It aims to give additional training to staff in nature conservation and land management, geologists, geographers, tourism and regional planning managers, as well as university students. Learn stuff! Lisa Heinz, the Geopark Coordinator, will participate as part of the Geopark Team and the trust is offering to sponsor one other local participant.
