This event is part of the Geopark Festival 2023.

Head Chef Gary Clarke and his team have created a special dish highlighting ingredients from the Geopark. High Country Salmon is at the highest point of the Geopark, and uses the glacial water from the Southern Alps to grow incredible chinook salmon. The dish for the Festival celebrates their salmon, and combines it with other high-quality ingredients from the Geopark, for a Geogastronomy experience. The dish will also be paired with a Waitaki wine.

When? Friday 27 October - Sunday 29 October 2023, 9am - 3pm

Where? High Country Salmon (2602 Twizel-Omarama Road, Twizel)

"What a fantastic window into the past. Today we saw fossil bones in limestone at two different sites. One set were whale bones. Just awesome that this trail has been put together, maintained and promoted."
