GEOPARK ROADSHOW COMING NEAR YOU!

Waitaki Whitestone Geopark - where people come together as kaitiaki of the land and its stories.

We are embarking on a Geopark Roadshow through the district. Waitaki Whitestone Geopark Trustees and Staff will give an overview of what a Geopark is, what we have been up to and our new strategic direction. We will keep our presentation short so that there will be lots of time for dialogue and to ask questions. We would love to hear what stories and projects are important to your community and how we can support you. Please join us, and get to know some of our Trustees, on one of these dates.

  • KUROW Thursday 28 October 7pm - Kurow Memorial Hall

  • PALMERSTON Wednesday 10 November 7pm - Palmerston Sports Hall

  • ŌAMARU Wednesday 17 November 7pm - Scottish Hall

  • ŌMĀRAMA Wednesday 24 November 7pm - Ōmārama Memorial Hall

  • VIRTUAL (Zoom) Wednesday 8 December 7pm - Follow this link on the day: Zoom meeting

  • We encourage you to wear a face covering.

  • We ask you to sign in either by using the NZ COVID Tracer app or by providing your details on a record-keeping form.

If you are feeling unwell, stay home and call Healthline or your doctor for advice. Even if you have been vaccinated against COVID-19, you should still stay home if you are feeling unwell.

"What a fantastic window into the past. Today we saw fossil bones in limestone at two different sites. One set were whale bones. Just awesome that this trail has been put together, maintained and promoted."
